Let's Celebrate World Bicycle Day

Hooray! Bikes!

The UN declared June 3rd World Bicycle Day to acknowledge the contribution that the humble bicycle has made to the lives of humans the world over. Bikes bring us together, after all, better connecting us to our world in a safer, more sustainable way. And as the following stories show, bikes open up a world of possibility to explore, create, and to live life to the fullest. Wherever you are in the world, join us in a celebratory toast to the bicycle. Cheers, bikes! You complete us.

CONNECTED BY BIKES

At this very moment, all over the world, people are riding bikes. They're pedaling to work, running errands, exploring nature, testing their limits, and navigating city streets. Millions of stories separated by geography, yet connected by one common thread—that true machine of freedom and utility, the bicycle.

Take the lives of Hannah Faith and Fitz Ambro$e—two artists using Turbos as part of their day-to-day lives through the vibrant streets of London and Shanghai. Their Turbos give them the freedom to connect with their environment in a truly effortless, in-the-moment way, and that’s the universal power of the bike.

For these stories, we followed Hannah Faith, a DJ, Art Director, and Photographer, through the streets of London on her early morning commute to her creative space. We also accompanied Fitz Ambro$e, a Tokyo-based Producer, Model, and Actor, on tour as he travelled through Shanghai to play a show and promote his new EP. Learn more about these artists below.

Fitz Ambro$e

Fitz Ambro$e—a Canadian-born, Tokyo-based producer—creates stripped-down hip-hop, filled with intricacies. A beat maker with deep roots in '80s Soul/Funk and '90s Hip-Hop/R&B, Fitz is known for head-nodding grooves, mixed with minimal production. Throughout his career, he's connected with a diverse range of collaborators and supporters, including Tokyo’s Jazzy Sport crew, and he makes his vinyl debut with Doe Quarterz, a 14-track mini LP rooted in Fitz’s love of all things that've shaped his art.
